What MLM Prospecting Is All About.

Let me tell you a story before we talk about what MLM prospecting is about. When I first got started in MLM a while back my upline told me to buy generic home biz opp leads from lead companies and make cold calls using my phone. I had a sales backround and thought I would sell people into my business like clock work.

But I learned real fast that it would not be easy to recruit people cold calling leads. I was dealing with massive objections and spending money like it was going out of style. However with the help of my upline at the time, training material that I purchased and taking massive action, I ended becoming what many called me “The Master Prospector”.

The reason that I was referred to as the master prospector was because I ended up personally recruiting 100 or so people. I spent countless hours on the phone chatting to thousands of people and have spent over $7527 on biz opp leads. I don’t say this to impress you but to let you know that I have a good idea about the MLM prospecting game.

What MLM Prospecting Is Not. . .

MLM prospecting is not about selling, telling, convincing or something that has to do with begging people into your organization. Most people get started in this business and the first thing they will do is try to sell the prospect on there business. Ex: I have the best phone sevice. I have the best compensation plan. I have the best dietary supplement. They start selling as if they were a telemarketer and most persons don’t want to be sold to. Selling will also hold you on the phone way to long explaining all about your product or service. Big waste of time!

What MLM Prospecting Really Is. . .

MLM prospecting is not selling . The point of prospecting is sorting. This means you get on the phone and ask questions or interview your prospect. The questions are intended to get you answers to let YOU know if you have some one who is serious or curious. This is why it’s called sorting. Your sorting through hundreds or thousands of individuals to find the best individuals that would be a good fit for you and your team. Another key reason you want to sort is so you can idenify as quick as feasible in under five or ten minutes if you have to get rid of a suspect and move on to another prospect.

I should mention that the main reason most people in network marketing can’t make the MLM prospecting game work is because they are taught to talk to the WRONG people about there business in the first place. Yes!! Buying low quality generic biz opp leads from lead companies are a waste of money and time to call as well as the Wrong MLM prospect for your business. Don’t fall into that trap.

The first thing you want to do is learn who are the right people to talk to about your business. Then how to find them. Once you know were to find them then you we suggest learning how to get to your web site or have them chase you calling you about your business. When your talking to the right MLM prospects about your business you will never have to beg, convince or deal with massive objections ever again. Why? Becuase they took all the steps to come to you and you are the expert in there eyes.

However the way MLM prospecting is actually done is still the same. It’s a sorting process and NOT a selling one.
