Why Recognize Donors with Engraving?

If you are involved with a charitable organization, temple, church or other place of worship that has tremendous value to your community, you understand the importance of individual donors. Donors are selfless men, women and families who give a portion of what they earn to support the organization where they meet, learn or pray.

And although many donors prefer to remain anonymous - those who add their name to their donation deserve recognition. And the best way to do provide that recognition is to create an engraved remembrance of the action. Engravings help communicate that this is a tightly-knit community, and one that supports its organizers and members.

How engraving help recognize donors

If you have received a significant donation earmarked for a particular area of your operation, you will want to commemorate the act with a small plaque or sign. Engraving that sign with the name of the donor and their family creates an eternal show of gratitude for their generosity. The look has an air of permanence that will inspire other people to give and remind everyone that your organization is built by the people who attend.

What types of things can be engraved?

You can place a polished-looking permanent engraving on almost any tributary item. That includes, trophies, plaques, statues or plates placed on cornerstones. The engraved object should be in clear view of passers-by and be a planned part of the structure for years to come. It is a good idea to create a donor tribute area that can be expanded over time.

Judaica Engraving in the Temple and School

The most stunning examples of engraving in recognition of a donation can be found at temples and Hebrew schools around the world. These beautiful, inspiring places of worship often rely entirely on the generosity of their congregation. Walking through the halls of a temple building or offices, and you will begin to see that it exists because of the support of families - many of whom are in the third generation as part of the congregation.

Memorial Engravings

When a beloved member of an organization or congregation passes away, the loss can be felt by everyone involved with the group. Memorial engravings are a way for that special individual to live on in the hearts of everyone who knew them. In temples, it is not uncommon to find an entire memorial wall, containing the engraved names of those who passed away. These memorial engravings are a long-lasting tribute to the individual - and are often a unique way for family members to make a donation to the synagogue.

Donors do what they do not because of the potential recognition they may receive, but rather because it is the right thing to do. But donor engravings help insure that these selfless individuals are remembered for generations to come.
