Where is the Peace I've Been Looking For?
- By: Mark Arens
Do you like being you? Are you satisfied being you. Sounds like some silly questions doesn't it. Are these really silly or are these questions worth pondering.
Many of us get to middle age and all of our lives we have strived to become. Become what you say? Become what we think we are to be. Why not just be. Be who you are. You have a Father in Heaven who loves you very much and created you in His image.
You are thinking, how can He love me when all I've done is turned my back on Him. Guess what, He knows these things about you - but superseding this He sees the real you - the one He created you to be. He sees you not as you think you are but as He made you to be: special, precious, and so lovable in His sight. Once you truly get this in your heart, you will melt in His love for you. You will yield to His love and direction in your life. You will be eagerly awaiting for Him to point out the places inside of you that need to be made pure and watch how kind He is as He does His tranforming work within you.
From the beginning, God has had great plans for you - plans to give you a future and a hope. He is completely head over heels for you. He gets so excited if even for a minute you turn your heart toward Him to talk to Him, to sit with Him, to listen to Him. He is longing to spend time with you if you would just take some time out of your day to see Him this way. Turn your mind and heart from the world that keeps you wrapped up in its busyness.
Spend some time resting with your Father in heaven and see what happens. You will be amazed at the transformation that takes place that you and others will notice. There is no better place to be than spending time resting in His presence allowing the Holy Spirit to have His way in your life. Through you He will change atmospheres; where His light shines so brightly all darkness dissipates.
God is love; therefore if we carry His very presence, love, then we will be spilling this love onto those we come into contact with.
So, do we concentrate on who we want to be or do we just turn our hearts toward God and listen to who He says we are? He knows all - we don't - why not let Him tell you - about you!
