Increase Your SE Ranking By Promoting Inner Blog Pages

Search Engines (seo), Blogging No Comments »

promoting inner blog pagesLink popularity is a big factor in search engine rankings. The tendency of blog authors is to promote only the main url of their blog unaware that a large amount of traffic also comes from inner pages or deep links as it is popularly called. How to determine which pages needs to be promoted so that you will increase your blog or website traffic will be discussed later but first we’ll touch on the topic about what keywords are searched in the main url of your blog.

Keywords in the home page

Your home page is limited only to a few blog posts. Blogger defaults to 7 pages but you can assign any number from 1 to 99. Individual pages are created for each blog posts if you selected yes to ‘enabled post pages’ in the settings/archiving page of your dashboard. Therefore the keyword relevance in your home page may vary but not on your individual pages or deep link. Blogger assigns a unique url for individual pages.

For example if your home page contains 7 posts, then the 7th post will no longer be in your home page if you create another post. Keyword density which is a factor in search engine rankings will not be the same as the one before you created a new post.

Promoting your deep links is a good option to increase your overall page rank. Page rank for your deep links can be passed to your home page. Among the many deep links which you can see from your archive, which of them should take priority in promoting?

Blogging No Comments »

bloggingBlogging is one of the easiest ways to set up a website. Pick a topic, blogging platform, host and theme/template for your blog, and start writing. It’s low cost and can be a lot of fun.

Picking a Blog Topic

Just about anything will do, depending on your goals. Blogs have become successful businesses on all kinds of topics.

However, your blog needs to be on something that you can write consistently about while maintaining your readers’ interest. If you can only come up with a few post ideas you might not have the right topic for a blog.

While choosing your topic really has little to do with your blogging platform, it is so relevant to starting a blog that it is worth mentioning. It can also matter when it comes to deciding how serious you are about your blog, which can impact the platform you choose. Read the rest of this entry »

Blog Sites Beware: Liability Lurks In Bloggers’ Postings

Blogging No Comments »

copyrightIf your site allows visitors to post digital files or comments (e.g. in an online blog, as well as in a forum or chat room), you could be held liable for copyright infringement if any of their postings infringe the rights of another person, even if you are unaware of the infringement. Under general copyright principles, you would be strictly liable for their copyright infringement, even if you are “innocent”.

You could also be liable for defamatory statements posted by bloggers.

The Playboy Case And Copyright Infringement

A good example of an “innocent infringer’s” liability that occurred before the enactment of Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA) is the case of Playboy Enter., Inc. v. Frena, 839 F. Supp. 1552 (M.D. Fla. 1993). In this case, Playboy alleged that the defendants who operated a bulletin board service (BBS) were liable for copyright infringement. Subscribers to the defendants’ BBS had illegally taken copyrighted photos owned by Playboy and uploaded them onto the defendants’ BBS.

The court found the defendants liable for copyright infringement, despite the fact that the defendants did not upload the photos (the subscribers uploaded them), and the defendants were unaware of the presence of the infringing photos until the lawsuit was filed. Read the rest of this entry »

Perhaps you even partake in the joy of painting, quietly creating your art masterpieces in your basement every weekend.

1. Select Your Keywords and Keyword Phrases
Choose the keywords and keyword phrases you want your blog post to rank high for on the Google search engine results page. For example, I want my blog post to rank high for the term, “blog ranked high on Google.” Currently there are approximately 286,000 pages using this term so I’ll have to do everything in my power to compete with these web pages to get my blog post on the first page of the Google results page for that term.

My keyword phrase also includes other keyword phrases like, “ranked high on Google” with about 310,000 competing pages and “high on Google” with over 71 million competing pages. Getting to the first page for these terms would be a bonus. Read the rest of this entry »

Keep Blog Readers Coming Back

Blogging 1 Comment »

bloggingIf you are a new creator of a blog page, there exist a number of things that you should do if you want to increase how many people actually visit your blog site.  Several Internet users go to blog sites quite frequently and they ultimately decide how profitable a blog will actually become.  When they have finally discovered a site that they really enjoy, Internet visitors will then subscribe to the blog and usually remain a loyal patron if they maintain a curiosity in the site.

In some instances, however, blogs do not maintain a very high rate of popularity and they often begin to decline in visitor numbers.  Readers begin to unsubscribe from your blog and look for other sites that spark their curiosity and peak their interests.  This can be a big problem for your Internet site because the amount of traffic flow to the blog will definitely determine how profitable you will be.

Blogging 1 Comment »

By: D.W Campbell

blogging patriotic posterWho would have thunk it? Blogging, started out in 1994 as random musings by a handful of internet users who considered them nothing more than online diaries. Not anymore. Blogging is not only commonplace but it can also be a key component in online business success.

Why has it become such a phenomenon? No doubt convenience plays a major role. Blogs are easy to set up and use. Also unlike traditional website building, blogs require no technical expertise which means no fooling around with HTML code and the like.

But more than anything blogging gives people a voice to be heard. You can post some thoughts on any topic you wish and instantly have a worldwide audience to read it. If they agree or disagree they can let you know it by providing comments on your blog. Not only is this more interactive that the traditional website but search engines look at comments on your blog as fresh content.
