Help To Reduce Spam

Spyware & Spam No Comments »

spam banSince the introduction of the Internet to the public, spam has been in existence and has become more and more of a growing concern and problem. Everyone who uses the Internet, especially with an email account has probably experienced a form of spam. I don’t actually think it is possible anymore to have a email account where no spam is received without the help of a spam filter.

The problem of spam on the Internet has reached a sorry state of affairs and drastic action is needed before the situation escalades even further. By just changing a few Internet ‘habits’ you could prevent a certain amount of spam from reaching your inbox.

For many of us Internet use is part of our daily lives. Many of us work in an environment where using email and the Internet is part of our job description. Due to this it is important that you follow some ‘guidelines’ of how to use the Internet and especially email without opening yourself up to the chance of receiving more spam.

These ‘guidelines’ should include the following: Read the rest of this entry »

Privacy on the Internet

lack of privacySpyware is part of an overall public concern about privacy on the Internet. Experts in the field of Internet privacy have a consensus that Internet privacy doesn’t actually exist.

It has been noted that spyware infects nearly 90% of Internet connected PC’s, with the main bulk of it coming from the installation of software. By installing certain software you could be placing media plugins, spyware, backdoor santa’s and Trojans on your PC; all of which are being placed there without your permission. This Spamming is Cramming My Inbox!

Spyware & Spam No Comments »

By: Jim Pretin

spam no moreWe’ve all had this experience:  You login to your email account, excited to read messages from friends, relatives, co-workers, or your girlfriend perhaps.  You view the link to your inbox, and it says you have five messages.  Fervently, you open your inbox, your heart is racing, you sit up in your chair a bit, leaning forward closer to the computer as you get ready to enter a new dimension.

What do you find when the page finishes loading?  Well, you see a spectacular cornucopia of diverse, informative topics referenced in the “subject” for each email:

“Erectile Dysfunction?  Look no further - Viagra, 90% off!”

 ”Get a 200 year mortgage!”

“Reverse the aging process, regress back to infancy!”

“Make 10 million dollars per hour stuffing envelopes!”

With any body that you want to stay in contact with, give them a unique email address of yours as described below in point 5.

The next step is to setup a system to protect you from future spam. Note that the following instructions all have to be followed in your servers cPanel area.

Fight Spam! Strategies and Software to Take Back your Inbox

spam poster   Efficiency and accuracy in communication may be more important today than at any time in human history.  The number of spam messages passed between individuals and businesses continues to increase significantly each day, to the point that some are literally overwhelmed by their sheer volume.  Now, more than ever, it is vital that true non-spam email messages be absolutely accurate and arrive at the correct location, on time.

According to most studies, Americans are doing their part in adding to the vast number of electronic messages, but they are also creating a huge number of unwanted, unnecessary messages.  One set of statistics shows that as many as 4 of every 10 spam items come from U.S. addresses. Europeans are far worse, however.  Half of all emails originating there are spam, according to some statistics.

Spyware Removal Software - Putting up the Barbed-Wire Defense

Spyware & Spam 1 Comment »

By: Jay Moncliff

spy eye    The Internet has been a revolution but not without a few negative aspects. One such threat has been the spyware that requires learning at least the basics of spyware removal software. That shall make one knowledgeable on where this spyware comes from; the best way to tackle it and which software is most effective in their removal.

These programs are written for gathering information on the Internet browsing habits of a user. The information (data) is then transferred to the spyware creator, either to be used by the same person or to be sold to third parties e.g. targeted online advertisers. This is the reason why frequent advertisements pop up frequently while being online. However, though most of these spyware programs are nothing else but annoying, the real threats come from those used by hackers and crackers. These people gather sensitive information like email addresses and passwords, bank account numbers, credit card numbers and passwords stored in a computer and give rise to offences as severe as spamming to financial frauds and identity theft. The remedy? Killing spyware programs and that requires installing a spyware removal software.

Spam is a Beast

spam in trash cartoon I receive approximately 5,000 emails containing spam each and every day. Well, maybe not that many, but it sure seems close to that figure. Spam is spiraling out of control and shows no signs of stopping. The question is, where does spam come from, and can you do anything about it?

Most of the spam I receive in my inbox is sexually explicit, but I still like to look at it because some of this junk is actually quite entertaining. My personal favorites are offers to purchase discounted Canadian Viagra, ads for pornographic websites, and bogus work-from-home programs.

How do these people get their grimy hands on your email address? One way they can get it is through opt-in email. When you order something online, as part of the subscription or service that you signed up for, you may have inadvertently agreed to receive offers via email from that company in the future.

We All Hate Spam

spam stops here Spam is the scourge of the Internet. Spam, as everyone knows, is the unsolicited advertisements that clog up email inboxes worldwide. Even occasional users of the Internet will know how annoying and time consuming spam can be: when logging onto the Internet to quickly check your email becomes a time consuming process of sorting through offers of romantic encounters and get rich quick schemes.

An immigration law firm in Arizona is popularly described as sending the first intentional, mass commercial email advertising their services over Usenet in 1994. This event is commonly referred to as the “Green Card spam”. Since then, the movement of spam over the Internet has exploded.
