Protecting Your Domain Name: Understanding the Anti-Cybersquatting Consumer Protection Act

Uncategorized 1 Comment »

Despite the simple functionality on many levels of a domain name, it is vital to the success of an online business enterprise.  At its heart, a domain name essentially is an address that tells a user of the Internet how to find a particular website.  In many instances, the owners of trade or service marks use their marks as part of their business domain names.  Nonetheless, there are many instances in which someone else may take advantage and start using the trade or service mark as part of another domain name.  With this well in mind, it is incumbent upon trade and service mark owners to monitor to make certain that others are not misusing their intellectual property in the registration of other domain names.

No matter how the domain name usage actually is discovered, trade or service mark owners have two basic options for resolving disputes over domain names. First, a person or company can take action under the Uniform Domain Name Dispute Policy.  The benefits of this process is that it is relatively fast and relative inexpensive.  There are drawbacks that include the fact that this process is not available to all domain names, it is not appropriate for license disputes and damages and attorney fees cannot be recovered through this process. Agloco Moving Forward Slowly, Very Slowly

Uncategorized, Marketing No Comments »

The following is an update from the Agloco Blog that was posted on October 12th, 2007. It speaks for itself and highlights a number of difficulties that the developement team has endured in their attempts to make Agloco a viable marketing  entity:

First – for those of you who have given some thoughtful ideas, questions and opinions on our posts during the last two weeks – thank you.

At this point, we would like to give some feedback on some of the ideas and thoughts given.

Is the payment plan posted last month a permanent plan? No – as noted in a comment we made this is a plan we wanted to implement now to show Members that even though AGLOCO is currently losing money the hours they are putting in now would be compensated. Our website states that we will make no distributions until profitable. We could have considered a plan that the June, July, and August hours would be paid zero since no profits were forthcoming. We felt that would be an unfair plan to those Members who were supporting AGLOCO in its startup period. That is the purpose of this initial plan.

Can the payments be sped up? Of course they could – although the idea we were considering was making additional ‘bonus’ payments to the early hours (June, July, August, etc 2007 hours) when and if additional funds became available.

Should AGLOCO  borrow money to pay Members? We believe this would be a critical error for AGLOCO. Giving out money that it was not earning was the downfall of AllAdvantage and we believe that spending only what AGLOCO makes is the best course for long term stability.

Importance of Content

Uncategorized No Comments »
Have you added content to your site recently or submitted it to article directories for distribution and exposure?
clipped from www.abcarticledirectory.com

In the same way cars need gas, people need food, and your garden needs water - the World Wide Web needs content. As the name suggests, the Internet consists of a web of information originating from all corners of the globe.

Search engines, like Google and Yahoo!, exist purely for content indexing purposes. That is their sole function, and a very important function it is. With billions of people contributing to the web on a second by second basis, the Internet requires some organization.

A stagnant website portrays a stagnant business. Innovative and informative copy that is rotated on a regular basis shows that a business is maintaining their website and always looking to offer their customers something new.

Article marketing is widely considered to be one of the most effective ways to drive traffic to your company’s website. As your articles get published on various websites, they will include a link back to your site.

How to Make Money Online With Short Articles - Sharing Your Articles

Uncategorized, News 2 Comments »

article Letting others use your articles, as long as they include your byline, is a very effective way to increase website traffic. Most articles which are posted online will include a byline which not only tells visitors you wrote it and might say how they can contact you, but will normally include a link to the website you are trying to promote.

Articles Are Seeds of Knowledge - A Biblical Look at Duplicate Content

Uncategorized No Comments »

By: Andy Beard

Bibles in stacks It is Sunday although I am not a very religious person, thus I was, horror of horrors, outside shovelling snow around. It was drifting, and if I hadn’t done anything with it, it might have blocked the driveway for my wife Monday morning.

Does your mind wander when you are doing a physical job that doesn’t require much other thought? Mine certainly does.

~ Duplicate Content of Biblical Proportions ~

I have been doing some research of “Top 10 Lists” for a new site. Whilst no list of the top 10 best selling books is exactly the same, there is one common feature. Every single top 10 list states that The Bible in all its variations has sold more than 6 billion copies.
That is close to the current world population, estimated by the CIA to be 6,525,170,264 (July 2006 est.)
Thus there are probably as many bibles in the world as people

That is an awful lot of duplicate content
