linking image

David Notestine, of Zeus, Cyber-Robotics.com fame, just sent me an interesting email and I felt that I just had to pass it along. For anyone even remotely thinking of having any sort of viable presence on the Internet, I strongly recommend that you read every word carefully. After you have read this message, just remember that you can link to us at the ABC Directory Web Resources, http://www.abcarticledirectory.com/resources/ for free, or get premium one-way links for a modest fee.

“Hello Emmanuel

What is going on? There seems to be a division of thoughts on the
Internet as to Link Marketing. There are those like Google and
the powers that be who keep teaching about linking guidelines and
how linking to other web sites is the only way to market. Then
you have others, mainly webmasters who say linking is dead and
should not be done. Who do you believe?

Give a webmaster half a chance and he’ll email you with whatever
it is he thinks he knows. Here are a few of the all-time
ridiculous emails we have received in response to our link
requests:

“Google no longer gives weight to outgoing or incoming links. We
have discontinued our links page.”

“We only link to web sites with a PageRank of 6 or better.”

“Our link has to be located on your Home Page only and that page
must have a PageRank of at least 6.”

“Our link must be located within one click of your home page.”

“Our link must be on a page that has no more than 5 outgoing
links and ours must be number one.”

Why do they even bother emailing us back? They could easily
delete our request.

Show me any place on the Internet that has PROOF that any of the
garbage above is true.

Are these webmasters ignorant of facts, just stupid or so
egotistical they have to email someone with this garbage?

Notice that every statement above has something to do with Search
Engines and not Linking for linkings sake. The traffic, from your
links, result in qualified traffic that’s consistent, the best
kind.

Linking should be for itself and not to influence the search
engines. Your work must be for your visitors and they alone
should influence the decisions you make about your web site

A few years ago, we fought mis-information, from SEO experts,
that linking didn’t do any good, it only provided an escape from
a web site or it penalized you in the search engines. I didn’t
mind this kind of misinformation as we only had to convince
webmasters they should link for the traffic it brings. It gave
them an ALTERNATIVE to search engine marketing. Then Google
announced that, since their start, they had been using linking,
as the most important part of the listing algorithms and that is
what comprised their Google PageRank.

Whoops, so sorry. Hmmm. Now the same marketing experts are
spouting new garbage.

If linking is dead, as many would like you to believe, why don’t
Google and the others say so?

Why then, does Google need their PageRank anymore? Why do they
allow you to search for back links at Google? What will the
search engine robots use if there are no more links? How will
they know which Themed communities your web site belongs to?

Zeus was the first linking software offered on the Internet, even
before Google existed. Then Google announced how great linking
was and now there are more software titles and web sites
dedicated to linking.

SEOs have no linking guidelines, except a tiny smattering of what
WE CREATED. They analyze, digest information, back track, keep
track of and do all kinds of useless jobs, except to get down and
link. Its hard enough without all the planning and analyzing.
Most of these ‘marketing gurus” have low PageRank and no web
presence. They don’t use what they preach.

Stop planning and start linking is what I have always said. Zeus
has many of these features in its Action menu, but heavy-duty
linkers rarely use them. Link, link and do more linking.

Because of mis-information, its harder now to market your web
site by linking, but their is NO alternative to linking - period.
It does take more time, because of misinformation, but you must
continue to link and if you’ve slowed down on linking, you’d
better start again.

The established web sites, that have been around for years, are
in trouble now. They’ve lost many of their links due to this mis-
information. Now, as before, the ignorant rule the Internet.
These old web sites relied on sanity to keep them at the top.,
but now these bigger, more heavily trafficked web sites are
panicking. Now’s the time for the new student, with the energy
and will to succeed, to pass the teachers. If you have an
established web site, that you’ve taken for granted the last few
years, you’d better get busy linking again IF you want to
survive. The ones that have, are re-establishing theme selves as
number one.

It was easier before, when the SEO and SEM webmasters just soiled
themselves in their own corners, but now they soil ours. There
was a line between Linking and SEO put there by SEOs. They
changed their minds and now the line is blurred and they have
moved into our corner, soiling it also. Besides asking the
question “Does Linking work?”, new webmasters have to put up with
tons of garbage that has recently evolved around linking. Ignore
those webmasters who do not show common sense.

As I’ve always said, “forget about the search engines”; when you
link and build your web site for your visitors and them alone,
the search engines shoot you to the top of their listings because
you are giving then EXACTLY what they want:

A quality web site that is trusted by others to have good content.

Search engines want to give their users access to quality content
that they can be assured it is what the webmasters say it is.
Follow the guidelines in our FREE ‘Common Sense Web Marketing’
eBook (link below) and you will succeed. Try it for at least 3
months, as 3 months is the time it takes for anything you try in
web marketing, to see results.

If you have tried it your way for months or years, try it mine,
for 3 months, and I assure you, you will succeed. You will have
to work at it, but that is what it takes. Nothing comes easy and
its time to stop looking for the magic pill that will send you
those hordes of visitors you so justly deserve.

If you have to do what the search engines want, use who Google
has decided is number one in “Link Marketing”; Zeus!

In Google’s own link directory, Cyber-Robotics is in the Top 10
listings in ‘Web site Promotion’, with less than 100 listings in
that category. This prestigious listing has not been purchased,
but earned. Out of millions of web sites, Google lists less than
100. That should tell you something.

The only problem is, I’m the only one telling you its going to
take A LOT OF WORK on your part to succeed on the Internet. I’ll
give you the prescription for success, but not one for magic
pills :-)

Should you listen to the ignorant webmaster or Google? Your
choice.
