ABC Article Directory Blog

I have been feeling rather neglected the last couple of weeks when I happened to notice a number of articles written by a few individuals that had compiled a list of top article directories. Needless to say, the abc article directory, did not make the lists of top recommended article directories.

The usual suspects as top article directories were deservedly there ; Ezinearticles, goarticles, articledashboard, isnare to name a few. These article directories undoubtedly are, for the time being, the most widely viewed on the net today. However, beyond the no brainer, everyone knows, been there forever article directories, the lists that have been appearing seem to lack a certain amount of credability.

Without going into naming names, because all these lists have a different set of players, let me explain why I think the abc article directory should be in most of the top twenty lists. First and foremost, because I said so….just kidding…I just wanted to see if you were paying attention. The number one driving factor that should influence article submissions, is traffic.Why would anyone submit to an article directory that does not get any traffic?

If an article directory, any article directory, is unable to maintain a steady stream of natural,  search engine driven traffic, it can only mean one thing. It is not a top article directory.

There are, I believe many factors that go into selecting these so called top article directories. Google pagerank however, seems to be the supreme factor used in choosing these sites. Alexa rank plays a role to some extent, and I suppose, inbound links from Google, Yahoo and MSN were also determining factors. The author of the article just happening to own an article directory that just happened to meet the criteria for making the list could also be a determining factor. The only problem with this scenario is that many of the sites chosen instead of the abc article directory are getting far inferior traffic numbers.

Of at least ten top 20, 25, 50,  etc. lists, at least 60% of the chosen article directories were receiving less traffic than the site with the blue butterfly. This is misleading to new authors that have good articles to submit. If they follow the list, they will be submitting their articles to recommended sites that have little or no chance of creating the desired exposure they crave.

I am not complaining about any lack of authors, but very good authors are hard to find. Very good articles written by very good authors, are even harder to find. Now, to have very good articles, written by very good authors, submitted to very poor article directories is a total waste of everyone’s time and effort. In fact, it’s a crime.

I suggest that any author who happens to know the benefits of submitting quality articles to quality article directories should spend a little time to make a list of their own using website traffic as their guide. Do a little research on your own and choose wisely. You will be rewarded with a flood of traffic by submitting to a few high traffic article directories. Go to Most popular articles list at the ABC Article Directory and browse through the list of top articles. You will notice that not only has the top article so far  received over 100,000 views, but that the ten thousandth article in the list has over100 hits as well. That’s a lot of hits from an article directory that doesn’t have 100, 000 articles yet. Put that in your list and smoke it!

My own Article Directory Top List monitoring at least shows traffic numbers for the few sites that were good enough to join and place the code on their sites. You can always check out the amount of traffic generated by the ABC Article Directory by looking at the many traffic monitoring widgets placed in the footer or sidebar. We don’t hide from the truth, we’re proud of it, and display it.
