A Complete Guide About Wedding Videography

A wedding videography is a type of video service offered by professionals. Often, they sell out their services in package so their clients may avail of some discounts. If at one time you are asked to cover a wedding ceremony, don't turn down the request. Take it as an opportunity to improve your skills in videography. However, you need to focus on the following reminders.

1. PLANNING. There is need to identify how long the ceremony will take place so you can estimate the running time of the video coverage. Inquire from the couple about the flow of the program and set up the video devices accordingly. The usual length of wedding videos is from 45-120 minutes. Make sure, however, to prepare for unexpected occurrences, such as the extension of the program during reception.

2. VIDEO DEVICES. Most professional wedding videographers always have their video equipment in place. The essential devices include a camera and a tripod, videotape, batteries, microphones and headphones. You may also prepare camera lights, extra wireless microphone and an extra tripod.

3. REHEARSAL. Often, wedding video professionals are a little strict on their requirements, particularly during rehearsals. The reason is simple: They want to ensure quality videography. Go to the venue and study how you can comfortably set up the camera and other accessories without blocking any ingress or egress point. If you have camera lights, see how you can place them in an area where everyone in the ceremony is covered.

4. GOOD SHOTS. While everyone is waiting for the bride, take some shots of the church altar and the VIPs. The trick for a good wedding video is take shots while the wedding guests are walking down the aisle. Make sure to know when the bride is coming in so you can cover from the moment she steps off the car until she gets to the church entrance. Stay on the side where you can make excellent shots of the bride. At any point in time, make sure you are not distracting anyone in the ceremony; you want the guests to focus on the couple and not on your movements.

5. SHOOT PROPERLY. To be a great wedding videographer, take every shot appropriately; meaning, don't shoot while your mouth is full. As much as possible, cover the highlights of the ceremony, such as the wine toasts, first dance and the cutting of the cake. The question: Should you video the couple and the guests while they are eating? The answer is 'no.' There is nothing unpleasing in a video than seeing people shove food and drink wine while on their best garments.

As a wedding videographer, keep in mind that not everyone can appreciate the extent of effort you put in every video coverage project; only wedding video enthusiasts will have the heart to say "You have done good enough," especially for most starters.

If you are covering an important occasion for a friend, the video may as well be your present to the couple. For most professionals, however, they believe it is fair enough to charge a minimal price. Whichever way you want to accomplish a particular project, just make sure you are giving your best.

If you need professional services for your wedding video, you may contact the wedding videographers in your locality.
