Also, the soil should be kept moist enough as well as it should be furnished with optimum sunlight & checked that it maintains a regulated temperature. Temperature is fundamental since worms are very sensitive to climate change & they would perish if there are extremities in the climatic conditions.
• For the warm comfortable soil, choose the mixture that ranges from shredded newspaper, cardboards, and any possible wastes from the garden. This would serve as an outstanding source for keeping the soil moist over time & would help to grow some of the bacteria & moulds upon which the worms can thrive.
• When it comes for choosing the worms, you’ve to selective about their breeding species & their size once they start to grow. For kid’s project, it would be reasonable if you pick the red worms which are available in the pet store. Or you can always shovel out some wiggly worms out the backyard & release them inside your customized worm farm.
• Daily nutrition is a must & therefore you should feed your worms daily. Be it meat, or any dairy products, just sprinkle the soil with some of the scraps & they’ll dig their way out & consume them.
