How Green Screen Works

Green screen technology is a technique used to composite pictures or different frames into one small color in which a single image is detached to enhance the other. This occurs when the object at the front is made to be transparent to allow for the other object behind to be seen clearly. This technique is also known as the color separation overlay. However, there are some techniques which uses the blue color even though green is the best color because it is very sensitive to the sensors of the camera. These sensors are able to capture the elements that are useful to produce striking results in videos and pictures. Weather broadcasting is one of the most familiar examples to be used. Here, the meteorologists standing in front of the map are seen despite the fact that in real life situation, it is just a plain backdrop.

How the green screen works?

The principal subject is filmed or pictured by ensuring that he stands in front of one color backdrop, mainly green. This is considered to be very far away from the skin tone. The parts of the video are normally replaced by the other alternate image or video if it is spoken about using the film matching techniques. Nowadays, green color is the most preferred color being used in the backdrops. The green channel has the least noise and is capable of producing the cleanest mask ever. Additionally, another benefit that you can get by using green in the backdrop is that there is no need to use excess color since it is very sensitive to the sensors of the camera.

The most significant part comes when the subject in front must be separated from the backdrop. However, blue was the best color that was used frequently up to this time. Together with the green screen backdrops, there is also extra body suit and tools that are worn by the targeted object provided that the person requires to be overshadowed by another object in the picture or video. There are several blockbuster movies which have enjoyed the benefits of this green screen technique.

Chroma key or green screen technology requires the following tools:

i) Background In the background, green screen is the most important item required. It can be a rolled fabric or painted wall, or a ready-made product bought from online stores.

ii) Images The green screen technology requires backdrop and images to replace. For instance, movie is it is to replace another video clip.

iii) Light Lighting is the toughest task to accomplish using this technology. The object must be lit evenly lit and in case of inadequate indoor light shooting, then try and shoot outdoor. Rather, overcast weather days offer the perfect amount of source light.

iv) Software Green screen software remove the screen effectively to superimpose the movie or image file. The green screen permits the targeted object to appear at the front of an image using the chroma key technology. The chroma keying allows for the removal of the green screen and by layering the other image beneath it.
