Making an ebook doesn't have to be difficult. An ebook can simply be several PDF's created from a blog post, word document or anything of that sort. As a blogger, my ebooks are information taken from my blog posts. Recently I found a really great source to create free ebooks, Zinepal. Zinepal - Paid vs. Free Version As a marketer, you want it to be free of Zinepal's advertising. They have THEIR link at the bottom where YOURS belongs. We all like visuals and the paid version allows images. How To Write an ebook When writing an ebook, start with keyword research. Google recently changed their external keyword tool to Google's keyword planner. You must have a gmail account and set up a free Adwords account. Adwords is Google's paid advertising, but you don't have to advertise to get access to the keyword planner, just have an account. After deciding on keywords, decide where you are going to write your content. It could be on your blog like I do, or take the information from your website. For ideas on content, a great place is "Google's Blogs". When Googling within the Google Blogs search, it will give you TONS of blogs with the keyword phrase you chose. It's one of the best sources I've found to find content to swipe. You know everything online is recycled right? We are not getting our Ph. D's, no need to reinvent the wheel, seriously. Some of the "Gurus" out there just spin content. There is software that can do it, I've looked at a couple years ago and didn't find one that made the article sound as good as the first one. So I don't personally use one. Once your content is complete and published to work blog or website, take the URL at the top of your page and plug it in then hit "Select Stories". Zinepal will populate other blog posts and you can select others that you want in the ebook. If you don't have a blog or a website, at the bottom of the image, it says, "You can also start with a blank ebook". Then you can type away as if it was a word document. After selecting your stories, "Preview Your ebook" to see what changes you would like to make. Then go to "Customize Your ebook" to make those changes. At first I thought once you create the ebook in the free version, that was it. So I was pleasantly surprised you could change a few things. ebook Cover Have you heard of http://Fiverr.com? If not, it is seriously your new best friend. Fiverr is the best place to get graphic designers for small projects like ebook covers, optin form design, business cards, I mean the list goes on. As Fiverr has evolved, they have made a way for the sellers to make more money, it's called "extra gigs". I don't recommend buying them until you find the graphic designer you like. Promotion As a marketer, one of the reasons we do an ebook is to get traffic. On the free version of Zinepal's software, it has THEIR link at the bottom of the page. So throughout the ebook make sure you put YOUR link to generate leads or whatever your goal is. You can use the ebook as a free gift in exchange for email address for list building. You can pin it on pinterest, give it to your list, share on slideshare.com. You could even give it away on Amazon, put your links in it and get traffic! Now THAT is a ninja trick.
