Is Creating Detailed Handmade Greetings Cards With Top Resources a Necessity

How important is the quality of your materials when creating your artwork? This is a very prevalent question for artists. All types of paint are obtainable in a student and an artist quality (for the beginner or experienced artist). Artist quality uses natural pigment and student quality is artificial. In several cases, the colours will look exactly the same and shall perform in the same way. Though, the differences between the 2 are observable and must be taken into account when completing your finished designs. Some of the most important features to look at are explained here...

Paint Attributes:

Pigments - Many pigments are quite costly and so for the student designer, alternatives, which give a similar result to high quality paints, will be available and may be used to create luxurious greetings cards. Although, there is some difference and this is visible when we compare tubes of 'Cadmium Yellow' and 'Cadmium Yellow Hue'. Any tube labelled with the word 'hue', will be made with a cheaper pigment, but will offer a similar effect.

Quality - Artists classes of paints boast a larger measure of pigment and so the depth of the colour will be better. Also, the quality of the carrier, i.e. the material which forms the basis of the paint, will be higher.

Durability/Permanence - Generally, artists paint ranges take a lot longer to weaken, this is due to the durability of the pigments being better. To save on costs, it might be better to experiment with student paints first, whilst attempting a unique design, before moving onto the more expensive paints for the real thing.

Paint Types:

Oil Paints have a firm consistency and can be used in a number of ways. They can be found in a wide range of inter-mixable colours and can be used with a number of mediums. The drying time is increased when using oil based mediums, such as linseed oil, but the gloss of the finished painting will also be enhanced. Solvent-based mediums such as turpentine, thin the paints and can be used to clean brushes.

Acrylics - Development of acrylic paints started in the 50's and they are the most recent kinds of most exclusive, professional paints. When wet, they are water-soluble, but when dried, they are waterproof. They are able to be used with oil-painting techniques as well as those applied by water-colour artists. They have great adaptability and are straightforward to apply. Acrylics are generally obtainable in a collection of colors and can also be bought in an excellent range of metallic, pearlescent and fluorescent colours.

Whichever resources are used by designers, whether it be student or professional types, there can be innovative works of art created, which could then be given as greetings to special friends and relatives. Some occasions will surely be more important than others, and offering handmade art is especially perfect for these, although it definitely does not mean that those gifts can't be used for other events as well. Keep painting and keep improving the materials and tools that you are working with, as it will stand you in good stead for the future, in having the facility to create impressive pieces of art-work in the future.
