Here are some helpful tips about how to make your baby healthy in the prenatal stages.

The health condition of the baby should be well monitored to avoid putting both the mother and the baby's lives in danger. You can never know what is going on inside your womb unless someone professionally experienced in this area guides you. You should have regular visits with your obstetrician. Prenatal care can help monitor the development of the baby during the whole course of pregnancy. This regular check up can also give you an assurance of having a healthy baby. Moms who have health problems can be detected earlier and will then be given healthcare solutions in the early stages of pregnancy.

Pregnant women should avoid eating processed goods as well as instant foods. Highly processed foods can bring health problems to the yet unborn child. What pregnant women should eat to keep their bodies and their babies healthy are nutritious foods. Vegetables, whole grains, fresh fruits and lean meat should always be included the daily diet regimen. Healthy foods can help an expectant mom in the prevention of the occurrence of pre-eclampsia. Pre-eclampsia is a health condition that can bring negative effects to the baby such as deformations and heart problems. Foods that need to be avoided by pregnant women are sweet treats, fatty foods, highly processed, and refined foods.

Pregnant women must keep their bodies well hydrated by drinking adequate amounts of water every day. This can encourage good blood circulation in the body. Dehydration can bring negative effects to the pregnant women as well as to the child inside the womb particularly during very hot weather conditions. Recommended daily fluid intake for pregnant women is at least ten glasses a day. Fluids may come in a form of pure drinking water or in a form of refreshing beverages like freshly squeezed fruit juices. Coffee, chocolate drinks, soda and other caffeinated drinks should not be included in the fluid intake of conceiving moms. Also, alcohol or liquor should not form part of the total daily fluid intake.

Pregnant women need to increase their intake of calcium rich foods. Drinking the right amount of milk daily or taking in dairy products can supply the body with the amount of calcium it needs to function well. Calcium is essential in the formation of strong bones for the baby inside the womb. Also, sufficient amounts of calcium stored in the body can help prevent the development of bone related diseases like osteoporosis.

Staying healthy is essential for pregnant women not only for their health benefits but particularly for those of their yet unborn child. They must eat nutritious foods that are abundant in vitamins and minerals, have regular prenatal appointments with their doctors and do physical exercises daily to make sure the baby is born healthy.
