The capital city of Germany, Berlin is famed for its legendary nightlife. Its several pubs will let you listen in to some great new music and artists, while sipping on amazing beers from all over the land. If dancing is more your style, then hit any of the numerous clubs and party the night away. During the day, you can visit any one of the many historical and cultural landmarks such as the Berlin Wall, Victory Column, Molecule Men, Kaiser Wilhelm Memorial Church, Checkpoint Charlie and Brandenburg Gate. The Zoological Gardens are also worth a visit. There are also several museums from the quirky to the extensive such as the Pergamon-Museum.
Munich is the capital city of Bavaria and lies to the North of the Bavarian Alps by the River Isar. The city has an extremely rich 800-year old history and you can find a glorious mix of the traditional and modern that co-exist wonderfully in Munich. Here, you can visit the famed BMW Museum or go to Zugspitze, the highest mountain in the German Alps at a height of 3000 m. Donít forget to visit the Beer Garden inside the Englischer Garten. Castles such as the Schloss Nymphenburg and Residenz are sure to mesmerise you, but make sure to catch a glimpse of the Maximilianeum and Neues Rathaus as well, which are two important landmarks in Munich. Besides these, there are plenty of museums and art exhibitions to explore, so pick and choose according to what interests you enjoy your stay in Munich during your Germany holidays to the fullest!
This is one of the largest cities in Germany, located on the banks of the River Rhine. The people of Cologne are what give the city its unique edge. A visit to the Kolner Dom is a must. This cathedral is enormous and makes up a distinct part of the cityís skyline. Take a walk through Rheinpark, that can be found along the right bank of the River Rhine, on a sunny day and enjoy some barbeque and beer with the locals. The Hohenzollern Bridge also makes for quite a wonderful sight. Cologne has some of the best museums in the country, and thatís saying a lot especially when compared to Berlin and Munich. One museum you simply must visit is the Museum Ludwig that is dedicated to the famous composer.
Depending on your travel time, you can add other cities such as Hamburg, Dresden, Dusseldorf and Nuremburg to your itinerary as well. But the top picks will always be Berlin, Munich and Cologne. So, plan ahead and have a wonderful time city-hopping in Germany.
