Tips for a Good Web Design to Keep Visitors Coming

Search engines such as Yahoo and Google provide a few visitors to various websites each day. As long as the visitor is interested in the title and meta-description provided in the search result, you are sure to get a few visitors each day from these search engines. But as a business owner, you simply do not want to gain a few visitors. You want to get as much visitors as you can and let them stay in your website for long. Smart business owners know that web design plays an important role in doing just that. A strategic design will allow you to rank higher in search engine results thereby producing more visitors to your website and attracts your visitors to stay there for a long time.

How to Keep Visitors

There are various ways you can utilize your web design to keep visitors in your website:

Make it easy for them to find the information they need - the design of your website must be in such a way that makes it easy for visitors to find everything they are looking for. For example, if you have a food website, providing an archive for all the recipes you have on your home page is a great idea. You can also feature on your homepage the most visited recipes and the best recipes you have they may want to try . It is all about strategically placing important information within your website so that people will easily find what they are looking for.

Provide in-depth content - as visitors find what they are looking for, providing them with in-depth information about the topic should also be readily available. Or, at least some additional information should be presented. This way the visitor will find even more value to your website as he gets to gain more information than what he actually expects to receive.

Up to date - it is necessary that the articles you have on your website are up to date . If you posted an article years ago that is still relevant today and receives page views, it may be about time that you update it. Obsolete and dated information can turn visitors off as it doesn't give them what they are looking for that is relevant to the present date.

Add a comments section - this makes the article look more credible and reliable. Showing visitors what others thought of your article is a great way to encourage them to engage in the conversation and to let them know that people found your article helpful and informative. Sometimes visitors also like to read the comments section as this also often provide helpful information like links and other facts related to the article.

A good web design must be able to keep visitors in the website and interested for a long period of time. If your visitors merely visit your page for a few seconds, it is not that effective. Remember the tips listed above to create a design for your website that will allow people to find value in it.
