You Are Actually Being Directed By The Lord--More Than You Recognize!

I treasure "awake and aware" guidance by the Holy Spirit. Receiving leadings for what to do in all kinds of moments transforms my life in Christ into an adventure. It heightens my inner peace and actually makes the business side of my life much more successful. Although explicit guidance is complex to be trained in, there is a further way of being shepherded that comes effortlessly. It is so simple that small children get the hang of it! Even step by step guidance is dependent upon comprehending this uncomplicated concept: You are currently being guided!

Whether you understand it or not, Jesus is guiding your steps a lot more than you imagine. I call this "sleep walking" with Jesus and it was actually the beginning rule of guidance He taught me over thirty years ago when I encountered Him. I had recently been delivered from a huge occult deception and desperately needed to ensure that He was the one I was following with every step into my new life in the Spirit. I didn't want to be mis-guided again.

The Lord caught my attention with Proverbs 3:6: "In all your ways acknowledge Him and He will direct your path." He helped me see that the Holy Spirit is like a good waiter who attends to us in all sorts of ways without ever making us notice His help. The secret is to "acknowledge" the ways that God has already been leading you. That cultivates spiritual eyes to see God's way with you. By doing this you will have the ability to cooperate with the guidance process a lot better.

I got under way applying this every night. Right before falling asleep I would ask the Lord to reveal to me all the times of guidance that I had failed to recognize as I raced through my day, so as to acknowledge what He had been up to. It is obvious to see guidance after afterwards, because the Lord says that wisdom is known by her children. If an activity went well, that meant I had been assisted by wisdom. What had God used in me or around me to do it? This worked magnificently!

As I built up eyes to see His ways by rear vision, my perception of guidance in the present went up exponentially. Of course, you will have to be totally honest about the events that don't go well. Plainly, you weren't steered by the Lord into errors, sins or wrong decisions. What had mis-guided you and why? What I figured out from my missteps helped me "rouse myself" and pinpoint the correct steps a lot better.

Now, I'm dancing with Him! And I pray that with this head's up you will soon be closing in on His trail too. Your life in Christ is intended to develop into a heaven-directed river of peace!
