    Doctors have been advised to prescribe oily fish or omega-3 fatty acid supplements to patients who have had heart attacks.
  • Genetic Heart Disease Link Identified
    Scientists have identified a genetic flaw which increases the risk of heart disease and heart attacks. Researchers from the US and Canada found that that up to one in four white people carries the section of DNA which increases the risk of heart disease by around 40%.
  • 1.7m Will Have Dementia by 2051
    Experts have predicted that 1.7m people will have dementia by 2051. There are currently 700,000 people in the UK with dementia, that is one in every 88 people. By 2021, the figure is expected to rise to 940,110, before reaching 1,735,087 in 2051.
  • Impact of Denied Alzheimer's Drugs Praised
    Alzheimer's drugs which are currently being denied to some NHS patients may have a dramatic impact on the pathology of the brain according to researchers in the UK.
