Bible's 12 Quick Tips for Eternal Life Ask any two denominations what do you need to do to be saved and you get different answers. But if you take your question directly to the Bible, the answer is always the same. Let's check it out. Have You Heard the News? Should we sit on our good news or should we tell others about it? If we don't tell them, who will? And if we don't tell the good news, will we be punished? The Promised One Were Biblical prophecies specific enough to identify the Messiah? Let's take a look at the Scriptures and see for ourselves. The Promise Fulfilled Here is a door, behind which, according to some people, the secret of the universe is waiting for you. Either that's true, or it isn't. If true, it's the greatest truth ever told. If a lie, it is the greatest fraud ever inflicted on humanity. Let's see what's behind that door. Young Earth versus Old Earth Can we determine the age of the earth by counting the generations listed in Genesis? If the universe is actually older than 6,000 years, does that discredit the Bible? Does it discredit Christianity? Let's check it out. Restoration of the Church What church tradition should we follow? Anglican? Baptist? Methodist? Presbyterian? or Roman Catholic? Why would Luke, Paul, Peter, James, and John provide us with such extensive details of the original church, if they did not intend for us to follow this pattern? Sins Against People What difference does it make whether we keep the Golden Rule? The difference between heaven and hell, says Jesus. Should we ignore his advice? or listen to what he has to say? Sins Against God Jesus and his apostles explicitly warn us about the sins of blasphemy, disloyalty, disobedience, idolatry, materialism, oaths, swearing, sorcery, and witchcraft. Should we ignore their advice? or listen to what they have to say? Sins of the Mind or Spirit Be careful what you think, for that is what you become. Jesus, Peter, Paul, James, John, and the writer of Hebrews all warn us of the sins of the mind or spirit. Should we ignore them? or see what they have to say? Sins of the Flesh We don't hear much about it any more, not even in church. But Christ and his apostles spoke passionately about sin and it's consequences. Should we ignore their warnings? or see what they have to say? Christian Virtues Are Christian virtues just for sissies, wimps, and other losers? Or are they the most reasonable way for all of us to live? Let's check it out. Resurrection or Deception? The story of Jesus' resurrection is a compelling one, but is it true? How can we in the twenty-first century account for this Gospel story? What Must We Do to Inherit Eternal Life? Surely the most important question ever asked is: What must we do to inherit eternal life? And who is better qualified to answer that question than Jesus, Peter, and Paul? So let's see what they have to say. Jesus: Legendary Hero or Real Man? Surely, it's the most extraordinary story ever told. Jesus, the Christ, the Son of God, came to earth and sacrificed himself so that we mortals might have eternal life. Fact? or fiction?
