  • Syn-flex for Old Dogs
There is something very peaceful about having old dogs around. We have two dogs right now who are fourteen. Red is a large Irish Setter and Katie is a small mixed breed. Both dogs have arthritis and both take Syn-flex liquid glucosamine to help keep their joints as healthy as possible.

There is no cure for arthritis, but Synflex glucosamine helps the joints stay as lubricated as possible. Red, because he is a large dog, has more problems than Katie who is a small dog. Large dogs simply have more joint issues when they are older because of the extra weight they have to carry.

Our vet said to give them glucosamine instead of some of the other prescription drugs which can be dangerous. We found the liquid form of glucosamine to be very effective. Synflex has a full 1500mg of glucosamine in each dose. Before we found it, we had been using pills. However, it took 3 or 4 pills to equal the same dosage the liquid glucosamine offers. Plus, it was much easier to give them. We simply pour the product over their food at meal time.

Besides giving them the Synflex liquid, we also try to make sure their weight is kept down. It is better for them to be on the "skinny" side than to have to carry any extra weight at all. We also make sure they get plenty of walking exercise. With Katie we have to be careful not to let her get too excited and play too hard. Too often she thinks she is still a puppy and ends up hurting her leg and then limps for a few days.

Also, make sure your old dogs have a warm place to sleep. Cold is very hard on old bodies - whether human or canine. We have dog beds and rugs inside and out that both dogs use to sleep many hours each day. Don't worry about your old dog sleeping a lot; it is normal. I would guess that our old dogs spend 16 to 18 hours a day sleeping.

And one more thing, as your old dog ages, his or her teeth are not as good. The dry food they used to love to chew is now better for them if water is poured over it to soften it. We also buy some "high priced" canned food to mix in with their food too. They really appreciate that!

Keep your old dogs warm, give them a glucosamine supplement like Synflex, insure they get good exercise, keep their weight down, and give them plenty of hugs!

Imagine a life free from the pains brought by arthritis. If this is hard to imagine right now, you just might need SynFlex. • Liquid Glucosamine is Very Effective For Dogs With Arthritis
My wife and I discovered liquid glucosamine about 7 years ago when our old dog, Storm, was getting older and suffering from arthritis. We tried several things from the vet, but he had bad reactions those medicines. We knew we had to find something natural and safe.

Liquid glucosamine is completely safe and natural. It is not a quick fix and takes about a month of daily doses for it to begin working. It works by supplying the joints with glucosamine which the body uses to build health connective tissue. Arthritis is the degeneration of those tissues in the joints.

Besides the fact that it is all natural, glucosamine in the liquid form is much easier to give your dog. Most brands come in easy measure containers. Simply remove the lid, squeeze the bottle, and the reservoir fills with a daily dose. Dogs under 100 pounds or so can get by with about one-quarter of an ounce.

When the does is squeezed into the top, simply pour the liquid over the dogs food at feeding time. None of our dogs have ever cared or even seem to notice that there is something on their food. We have heard that some cats can be finicky however. In those cases it may be necessary to add some tuna juice or other treat over and on top of the dose of glucosamine.

Some of the joint care supplements require refrigeration; others do not. Check the label to find out if it can be stored out of the fridge or not. Also, all products have an expiration date on the bottom of the bottles which should be checked.

Another great benefit is that most brands contain a full 1500 milligrams per single dose. It usually requires 3 or 4 pills to reach the same dosage. Plus, giving the supplement in liquid form by simply pouring it over a dog's food is so much easier than trying to give them multiple pills each day. A few of our dogs have figured out how to spit the pills out even if we wrap them in some "goodie" like lunch meat.

Lastly, the cost of glucosamine in the liquid form is far less than many of the prescription drugs which are prescribed for dogs with arthritis. The daily dose is well under one dollar a day even for medium and larger sized dogs. This is very inexpensive compared to many of the well known arthritis drugs.

After many years of using the liquid form, we can't say enough about the positive results we've seen in our older dogs. It really does make their later years far more comfortable. I'd also like to add here that, besides giving the glucosamine, be sure and always keep your older dogs on the leaner side.

This is especially so in the larger breeds. The more weight the dog's joints must carry, the more problems with arthritis they will have later in life. It's far better for them to be a bit "skinny" than to have them carry any extra pounds at all.
