It has four stages, namely: the romance or honeymoon stage; the reality stage;the accommodation stage; and the transformation or success stage. During the honeymoon stage, couples are still excited about the transition from being just a regular couple to a married couple. During the reality stage, they experience difficulties as differences in dealing with situations emerge.During the accommodation stage, the couple starts understanding each other and starts working on their differences. On the success stage, they finally get to enjoy the rewards of the hard work they put into making the marriage work. Counselling helps those who have a lot of difficulty coping with the reality stage.But counselling will not work if the will to work the relationship out doesn’t come from both parties of the relationship.
