  • Personal Tips and Tricks to Help Boost a Credit Score
In our ongoing attempt to tackle the very relevant subject of credit repair, today I want to address some tips that some reading this article may not know yet find very helpful.

We are living in a time, especially now, that lenders are cracking down on borrowers. Stringent rules and guidelines are being put in affect that make it harder for the less fortunate to borrow money, and for those that have money to attempt to hold onto it.

As you probably know the main identity linked to a borrower comes through the dreaded credit or FICO score. This is the Fair Isaac Corporation numbering system that is in place to label a borrower as to just what type of spender that person is.

A good score reflects good habits on the part of the responsible borrower.
A bad score reflects possibly bad habits or problems on the part of the borrower.

There is the possibility that the borrower has had identity theft or some other type of problem, which resulted in the lowering of the score.

The following tips are a way that the borrower can bring up his or her credit score.
Something that few people know about is the possibility of increasing credit points by getting on the coat tales of a stronger borrower.

If you have a relative or friend that will let you place your name on his or her account as an authorized user of said account this will boost your credit rating.
Now keep in mind that if the person you are asking for this type of help has poor credit, this will not have the desired affect we are looking for.
You don't want to go overboard on this either. Just one or two accounts will do.

This next tip can be a dangerous avenue of repair if you as the borrower are not responsible enough to not spend if this possibility comes your way.
Asking already in place credit lenders to extend your loan amounts can increase your points.
If you are at a $300 cap you may ask for the lender to extend you to $500 and so on. The problem with this solution is that if, like I said, are not responsible enough not to max that limit out this idea can hurt you more in the end.

Borrowing the money and not using it is the idea here.

Looking at your credit records can be a place to go and begin repair as well.
There may be some items that are not legitimate. There may be some items that are so far in your past that they can technically be removed as well.

If you can get items removed from your credit history files this will also help your rating.
Whatever method of help you seek, one thing is sure, ignoring bad credit that is in need of repair will not help any situation.

    Until next time. Take Care!!
  • Consolidating Credit Cards Is Part of Credit Repair
Overspending is a bad move that a lot of people make. This is because they think that as long as it is approved they can continue to do so until it finally maxes out. My friend, this never ends up well because they don't have the money to pay for what they originally purchased which is why consolidating credit card debts is part of credit repair.

If you think this tragedy is only in the US, think again because the same situation happens in other parts of the world as well.

Credit card consolidation is simple. You combine all the debts you owe from various creditors so you end up paying only one creditor monthly.

There are many benefits with credit card consolidation.

First, you get to pay off your debt at lower interest rates than those that are already prevailing in the market.

Doing so will re-age your account. This means that your account is current and active as long as you keep making the necessary payments that you agreed on.

While most card companies charge you fees for being late on your payments, the credit card debt consolidation program waives that so what you will only be paying what you actually owe.

Lastly, the debt consolidation plan affords you time so you have the choice whether to finish paying in a matter of weeks or months, possibly stretched out over a few years depending upon the plan you get enrolled in with that particular company.

When you are able to consolidate your credit card debt, the next step is to come up with the money to pay it off. You can try reducing your overall expenses, asking for a raise (I like that one), or possibly getting a second job or selling some valuables.

So do you need to apply for credit card consolidation by going to a bank? You can course this through a bank but there are private and non-profit organizations that offer similar services. You just have to find the right one to get involved with and then cooperate with them.

When you are looking for an organization to work with, make sure they are on the level because some of these are scams. This isn?t good and you surely don't want to fall for that because you are just wasting your time and money.

Once you notice that the money you owe out is getting smaller, you are already on the right track and it won't be long until you have finally been able to do some credit repair or possibly pay off your debt, which also will repair your credit.

There are a few things you can also do to boost your credit score. You can open a new line of credit and if the major credit card companies will most likely deny your application, get a credit card offered by supermarkets or grocery stores and those released by banks.

Don't forget to pay your bills and other expenses on time because all that hard work you have done will have gone to waste if you miss a payment.

The amount of money you owe to creditors took months to grow so don't be surprised if it takes awhile before you are once again debt free. Remember, you probably put yourself in this situation so the only person to look to is yourself.

Credit card consolidation is just a part of credit repair. Once it is in play, honor your commitment because that is the only way that your credit score is going to get better and you will once again have good standing with the creditors.

One of the hardest things for a consumer to understand and focus on is that it might take a little time for these problems to get better.
I personally know that I borrowed money and either purchased a physical product with that money or just flat out used the money.

Either way you look at it, I am obligated to repay for help that I actually got from the honor of the lender.

It takes discipline to repay a debt I owe. It is hard to stay focused on a debt because the immediate satisfaction has faded away from what I purchased but now I am left with the gloom of the responsibility of repaying.

I would much rather take what little money I have coming in an do something else with it, but this won't help the damage caused from neglecting my responsibilities.

Staying focused and consolidation can make the looming monster hanging over me that seems to come from all directions, easier to face while I am trying to do the right thing and repay my obligations.
